This miniature portrait appears to be unsigned. On the reverse there is a long inscription that reads "George Salisbury sixth child of Samuel Salisbury and Hannah Priestly, daughter of Joseph Priestly of White Windows Hailfax. Born 9th Feb 1810. Went out to Buenos Ayres and there married Maria Hjuarina (?) Tubri and had one daughter Euriginta (?) Victoria who was born in 1834 and married a Decastro (?). It is supposed that the family perished in a revolution in 1852 or 1853 and nothing has been heard of them since that date.
